Computers have changed everything. They have changed the way we work, the products we make, and the way we learn.

The New Wealth: where once we worked in factories or offices, making and selling goods, now we make information products - the new wealth - sometimes in our own homes.

The New Learning: where once we learned from books, reading. remembering, recalling and reproducing information, on the page, now we learn from screens - scanning, skimming, selecting, synthesising - cut and pasting - and using information to make something new: intellectual property. Where we once needed print literacy - now we need digital literacies.
